GregorGrrl I recently came across a mention of "Malcolm of the Castles" who built "...castles in Perthshire, including Stonmelchan."
Who is he and where is Stonmelchan?
I can fine neither one in my searches!

Gordon Don't you mean Black Duncan of the Seven Castles?
He was one of the chiefs of Clan Campbell, and he strengthened Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe after it had been fired by his MacGregor neighbours.
Sir Colin Campbell had built Kilchurn to face an old MacGregor castle at Stronmilchan (1 mile North east of Kilchurn). Black Duncan later dispossessed the MacGregors in Glen Strae and had their castle at Stronmilchan burned. The last remains of Stronmilchan were destroyed in the 19thc . They may have had another castle in Glenstrae at some point.

The MacGregor website that had the info (unsubstantiated) said "Malcolm." But it was probably really the Colin you mention.
There are a few other incorrect items on that web page that I am checking out, as well but this one really caught my eye. As far as I know, there were no MacGregor castles as such...just strongholds.
The one I do know of, Lanrick Castle, was built in the 1700s. "Lanrick House was castellated and turreted in 1791 and from that time was known as Lanrick Castle. Even today it is still sometimes referred to locally as Clan Gregor Castle or Castle Gregor. I am on the lookout for any other MacGregor related buidings.
Gordon The MacGregors had connections with the following Castles or fortified houses,
Aberuchill, Edimample, Eilan Molach, Glengyle,Glenstrae, Inversnaid ( the later barracks were built on the site of Rob Roy's house, though this itself was probably not fortified) Lanrick and Stronmilchan.
Lanrick incorporates part of a much older tower house of the MacGregors. It had formerly been owned by the Haldanes of Gleneagles, and the present mansion was built by the tea tycoon, William Jardine, in 1840, confirming what is said on your link.
